Sconset

Get warm and cozy in this seaside cottage! With inspiration from the charming homes of Nantucket, this playhouse provides the perfest space for children to play and let their imaginations run wild. The playhouse name, "Sconset", refers to a quaing village along the eastern shore of Nantucket Island. The exterior of this playhouse epitomizes the Nantucket style, featuring decorative window boxes, a swooping slate roof with copper accents, stained cedar shake siding and painted corbel brackets & trim. In addition, a decorative lantern at the arched front door welcomes guests into this enchanting little home.

The comfy, casual interior showcases a traditional Nantucket theme, with dining room furniture, a placement rug, chalk board, bookshelf & toy storage, framed children's artwork, upholstered chairs and a painted compass stencil on the floor. Adding to the charm, the interior also features painted hardwood floors, a marble countertop, stencil patterned walls, a chandelier, recessed lighting, bead-board ceilings and tongue & groove walls. The playhouse is even complete with a sink, faucet and built-in cabinets. In addition, children will enjoy traveling up the ladder to the bunk loft, a perfect place for reading or taking a mid-afternoon nap. Enhanced with a sound related feature, the playhouse also allows the enjoyment of listening to music.

"Project Playhouse" provides our company the opportunity to support HomeAid Atlanta, the charity of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, and its wonderful mission of building houseing where temporarily homeless families and individuals can revuild their lives," said builder BJ Mann, owner of Jackson Bailey Group. "We really wanted our playhouse to promote the creativity of a child's imagination," he continued. Architect, Tim Adams, commented, "we wanted to create a playhouse that would integrate nicely into the landscaping of someone's home and provide children a place to 'be kids' and use their imaginations. "'Project Playhouse' is a fun and easy way to utilize my skills and give back to the community. It's and incredible way to assist in providing shelter for the homeless children, women and men around Atlanta."
